Here's where it all started...
After the 2023 Live shows, we couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing... The thought of releasing the NAC Movie online, on its own, felt incomplete. After all, NAC was never meant to be experienced in isolation - in a dark room, late at night, doom-scrolling. It is, and has always been, a dish best served at a table filled with strangers and friends.
So we sat with the discontentment and waited. And we waited, and we waited some more. Until one day it came to us. A BOOK! Yes, that will be the perfect pairing for the NAC Film release! A book that will work in tandem with the film to help small communities all over the world sink their teeth deeper into the history and artistry that made the show so transformative.
In true NAC fashion, this book became the outpouring of dozens of local artists. Writers, designers, painters, poets, editors. With every fiber of our being, we hope this book serves you and your community. We hope its message—our courage, creativity and hope—plants like a seed deep in your soul. We hope it empowers you to build an oasis right where you are planted, even in your own living rooms. We need more space like that in this crazy world, don't we?

The days we are living in are full of mass discouragement. Many feel paralyzed by fear, anger, confusion and disappointment. Deep down, we know we need community if we're gonna make it through this chaos. But...how do we actually get there? How do we form relationships built and sustained on genuine, lasting hope for today and tomorrow? These are the questions that drove the creation of this book. We believe a “greater later” starts with us, within the context of our local communities. We can awaken a generation, one living room at a time. ​​​
