Working in tandem with the NAC Movie, the “NAC Book” functions as a 12-session "weekly guide" designed for communal engagement about the nature of the times we are living in and the role of the artist to help rebuild souls and cities. Drawing from creative pioneers such as Frederick Douglass, Nina Simone, Kurt Vonnegut, and many more - as well as from writers and researchers in history, art history, sociology and community building - the NAC Book actively creates safe, artistic havens to process our post-2020 societal shifts. It invites readers into an honest and open dialogue about creativity and hope as we work toward cultural reformation. In that, it helps reframe our modern "doomsday" anxieties through a historical lens of collective progress. Will you start the conversation?
