NAC found its origin in a project called THE ART OF REBUILDING. Making its grassroots debut in 2021, TAOR spoke to the heart and soul of the “doomsday” generation by offering a countercultural message of resilience and hope. Each week, a new batch of self-published “zines” (pronounced zeen) hit the city, revealing a “key to rebuilding” - something that’s *key to have* as life falls into ruins. Now, years later, as our team gears up for the NAC Movie and Book release, we can't shake the feeling that these zines still have some life in them. Though the dates and QR codes are outdated, the stories, poems and concepts of rebuilding found within them carry a deep and transcendent clarity.
